L2 is definatly different from the others. L2 has been around for what, a year and a half? There arn't that many true new players (due to NC softs inability to advertise thier product.) but people reroll all the time. With some hard work and brain power you could catch up to 70% of the people within a month of playing. The max level is currently 75, it is being updated to 78 in the next big patch, there are also sub classes to work on, it's more than enough to keep you busy. You don't have to be that high to die in castle sieges. You DO have to develop friends and a moderate (52ish) level and gear to join with somewhat of a purpose. |

Often (mistaken) for a game severly lacking in content, it has over the course of the past year and a half developed a somewhat limited though ultimately dedicated following of players. The thing most people first notice when they play it is its graphical beauty due to its very distinct art direction, as well as a descent new player friendly interface and tutorial. They also notice that new player areas are severly lacking in population, due to the fact , as stated before, that the majority of the gamers remaining in L2 are very experienced on how and where to level most efficiently. this typically takes the well equiped "reroller" out of the immediate starting areas, and into the better level appropriate xp areas found deep in the wilderness of the various landscapes. In as much a turn off for some new players is lonliness in the beginning of their L2 experience. Quickly however, and with some luck, a new player will find someone or some group of longtime players willing to bring them into the L2 world more effectively. If this happens , you will find the necessary knowledge to suceed quickly in the game ... otherwise ... it can take up to a year to really find your niche in the game, just as it has taken the rest of us to do. Lineage II as with Lineage I is an extremely difficult game developed mainly for a more mature demographic for whom longevity is more apealing then convenience. It was and still is a game whos content (going back to my first statement about "mistaken") revolves almost completely around the players ... the economy, the gameplay, the PvP, the PvE, even the quests really rely on the players who play the game, and the relationships formed in the process. Lineage II in this sence is not the casual gamers best choice, as it requires alot of attention and dedication, alot of head work when dealing in both tactical and economic terms, and alot of patience first and foremost. For those who succeed it is undeniably a satisfying experience. Lastly L2 is prefered by many for the exact same reason so many others have left it ... its not all about quests, its not all about some trivial and contrived Fantasy storyline being forcefed to the masses with little to no devience form the developers path ... instead L2 is a setting, a world, with a history from which the players take off and with infinate imagination have the ability to forge the path of its timeline and future. Sure in the end the game will leave off where lineage I began, but in the interum, the players are given unlimited freedom to live the game as, just like the title says, the chaotic chronical. So I supose as a brief summory of L2 this would be it ... If you have specific questions about the gameplay of Lineage II, well that is probobly best set for a new line of questions. :) feel free to ask them. |

You can get through the game just fine without sieging, seeding, participating in festivals, leveling sould crystals/pets, owing a clan or anything else that may seem complex. Its typical hack and slash so if you can do that, you'll be fine, the rest will come. |

If you keep your eye out greiffing perma red PK'ers can be seen as they approach and sometimes avoided or stopped. When I was leveling my Spellhowler I slept a number of reds running towards me. |
