Murderator Posts: 7193 Joined: 18 Apr 2004 | Sure you can, WoW stole all its ideas from EQ1. Ripping people off leads to a lot of the most successful games. I mean look at the FPS genre, there's been almost nothing original about it since the early 90's except for a couple of rare titles. I hope L3 will have more quests and less repetitive PvE but I really hope that's all they take from WoW or EQ2, both of those games are weak as hell, I especially hope L3 keeps FFA PvP and doesn't go to a realm model (lame).

Thats why not as many in NA play. I for one like that it takes forever to grind the levels and its CHALLENGING to make money(not everyone ebays, its not suppose to be easy, stick to WoW, and get your drops and xp and quests. |
Murderator Posts: 7193 Joined: 18 Apr 2004 | I don't have a problem that it's hard, I just wish it was less repetitive. OK, I've killed my thousandth Golem this level, great. In five levels I'll get to kill a golem that looks exactly the same with a different name. Great. L2 is a great game, the best MMO on the market right now IMO, but no doubt there's ways it could improve. WoW is very popular in Asia, so it is possible to break the mold.

You mean carebear server types? FFA PVP is the way to go. "That @#$%ER STOLE MY DROP! *kill kill kill* I feel better now" |
Posts: 45 Joined: 12 Jun 2004 | can you stay in one place at a certain level to grind, yes, at 7x, I have like 4 different locations to hunt, that all have different mobs, and most drop quest items that I can sell for good adena(eg TOI BP's) and I hope this convo doesnt turn into the "But I have to have 9 peeps to hunt anywhere" I for one and getting sick of seeing games come out that are "group minded", groups and parties are fine and good, but let me grind like I do now without having to have others online to assist me |

Well I am with you for a bit. BUT mix the two PvP systems and we have two sides BUT you can kill your own if you like and there we ahave an open PvP with all the dynamics and the thrill of both WoW and L2. That's what I call open PvP. |

Also the side system would be absolutly BROKEN as dwarves don't have casters so they can get BBQed easily without healers. Also if it's good vs evil there is no real EVIL side (DE's and Orcs?). So yeah side system? Doesn't happen. |

Murderator Posts: 7193 Joined: 18 Apr 2004 | L3 is being unveiled in 2007, who knows how long til it will be on live servers... L2 won't have 12 Chronicles, this has been confirmed in the dev Q&A, C5 is the last expansion entitled "Chronicle" which I take to mean the last major update of content, from here on out only small patches for balance etc. will be applied. I could be wrong though.

(L2 is a more beautiful game, I'm not saying eq2 is all around better) One thing tho, and we can argue until Aden looks level, as I play EQ2 I get the feeling that the game owner doesn't want me to ebay. In that game I can farm and level and I get all sorts of materials. I place these materials and SBs on a server wide brokerage system that makes all of these materials available to everyone. They sell and sell and the gold piles up. No soul shots, GK fares to drain gold. Everyone crafts a specialty, so money in the market is rightly divided. EQ2 farming and crafting takes a little time, and you only go broke if you don't take the time. EQ2 people who don't want to do either are the ebayers. Nothing on the scale of L2. |

There have been many requests from present and past players in L2 to do something..... all I have seen for the last 2.5 years is more bots and less players. I seem to remember Nsoft boasting 275000 NA players at one time and 3000000 Asian players. (pretty low number compared to WOW)., Now what..... 80,000 NA players. Not sure how many Asian players still around. Now days all I see are parties of 9 going from one mob to the next with 2 mages sitting then standing. |

The bottom line is this is a social game and you won't enjoy it to its full potential if you can't group every now and then. This is coming from a newer playing, starting out with an Overlord (supposedly the hardest class to level I hear) which is at 48 now. Right now, I can level in southern Enchanted Valley, the back of Cemetery, the higher mobs in Alligator Island, and I think in Sea of Spores (havn't checked in awhile). Thats a lot of mobs to choose from on any given day. |

Here we go again:
I played L2 since beta and I had a blast. Everything was fun and we where happy hunting in Elven Forest. But then I realised things.
For Example: Why do many people wear top gear? Nobody could afford them at that time. I was one of the highest level Silver Ranger on Lionna. But I couldnt afford those stuff. It came to me that people bought money off the internet.
Then the second thing came to me: What shall I do. Everything I do is, lvl, lvl, lvl, xp, xp, xp. Where are the good and fun quests? There are none I realised...
Then I quit the game when EQ2 came, and woahhh!!! So many quests and the world is amazing! But no PvP!!!??? I quit EQ VERY fast after realising that there was no PvP at all
Over to WoW. Woot!!! Both PvP and lots of quests!!! But then there was very few experienced players, most players are -18 and shouts things like: [Put name here] is fucking Ninja!!! And lol and allt hat stuff.
So now what? Im waiting for Lineage 3 and meanwhile we all in the former guild plays WoW. I expect L3 to have at least 3000% more quests. And I expect them to be fun. I also expect more kinds of armors and weapons so not all look the same. I also expect weapons to be useful when you find them (top no grade dagger drops of lvl20-25 mobs, should be 15-20 mobs). And I also want to see more solo characters. Also summoners should not be punished (crystals for summons?) and I expect that all can craft and specialise in for example Alchemy, blacksmithing and so on. All this and what L2 has now, the open PvP and so on.
If L3 gets all the goodies from WoW and EQ2 (Two sides of PvP, mentorship, crafting, mounts that doesnt take 11 years to aquire and better pets) and in the good spirit of L2. Then we have the MMORPG of the century!!!
Hope to see you all in Lineage 3, til then: Salut!
