Hey everyone, I know there is another "interested in joining thread" but it is way off from my question.

I beta tested for Lineage II way back when (I remember the time the entire geometry of my game just vanished on me)

and after the test I played for a bit and then moved on. But I always loved Lineage II for the very shallow reason of having the prettiest flipping avatars out there. I have been wanting to rejoin for a little while now but an acquaintance of mine who used to play fairly regularly tells me there is an abundance of grief campers at all the new player starts who delight in showing you how much money you've wasted by killing you dead ASAP and repeatedly.

If this is true I may have to turn my interests elsewhere on account of I am not a big fan of player griefing, especially when I am on the receiving end. And instead of freaking out and typing bunches of funny stuff for the A**hole to chuckle at, I normally ignore.

There are a lot of unique and interesting MMO mechanics in Lineage I'd like to experiment with, and cute avatars are a bonus. Can anyone validate or refute the above information?

Thanks

thats how it was when the game was still new, like 2 years ago or more. The majority are focused on high end content now, you will more likly be hard pressed to find anyone at the start areas, more or less gankers. The new update however, you will be happy to hear that its much easier for noobs in many ways (free buffs till 62,free gatekeeper till 40,all gear threw top c grade available in npc shops). I suggest give it a shot.

The grind isn't gone. It's just shifted to higher levels.

Which is really where you want it. A grind at lower levels detracts from the fun. At least they've sped up levelling untill you get the point where you can participate in the more fun content L2 has to offer.

Well, fortress and castle battles too, yeah a level 60 isn't too much use in those, but they can do SOMETHING.

Actually Forts are a bit lower level. When they first came out I thought "Pah, this isn't going to do anything. Only the top will control them anyway", but I was wrong. In the ones I've been I've seen mostly B/A grade, with maybe just a couple of S and higher.
