Looking For Group Posts: 145 Joined: 11 Jun 2004 | Okay I'm an american I've been Pk'ed by both farmers and americans and I' sure a few Europeans. So what. I don't hate asian but I do think that the farmers, but they do ruin the game for me. Not all of them mind you after a few run in with the stongs I think they are a pretty good group as far as farmers go but the licans, and a whole other group who may or may not be farmers but have a clan name asian dragon are a complete pain in the arse. they won't share rooms in a dungon and if you share a kill and you get the adena they kill you, they are almost all dagger I think well DE anyway. Now enough of my rant on the "asian Farmers" they're a bad group just like the "American Hero's" are a bad group but I don't group all asians in with the farmers and i hope you show some of us American the same kindness. which brings me to one last point did they have a clan name american hero's or just tell you they were. How do you know they were even american. I don't know if the asian farmers are asian they might be in a sweat shop in mexico for all I know. Okay I rally not going anywhere with this so I'll stop now. Thanks for the rant. |

They think this server was like made for them or something. I mean seriously, if everyone cant be fair and not pvp or pk in a game that was built for that purpose then what oh what will those of us that like to complain do? Oh wait, these servers are made for north americans (yes I know that other countries besides america are in north america), and last I checked, this game was made for pvp and pk, hence the subtitle 'Chaotic Chronicles'. |
Power Leveler Posts: 3216 Joined: 17 Dec 2003 | No you're right, I'm not meaning to diss Americans as a whole, it's just that some Americans stereotypically have a "feel-like-the-world-has-singled-them-out-specifically-to-bring-justice-to-Aden-and-now-they-and-they-alone-must-go-forth-and-concur" attitude. And whatever innocent people they kill on the way is just a sacrifice for the greater good. Normally I could care less but it urks me when this attitude costs me hours of gaming time. Also, they weren't in an "obvious" clan, that I could tell and their names were all normal appropriately capitalized English names. I guess they could have been Canadian. I'm gonna go out on a limb and rule out Europeans, this doesn't seem like their nature. |

We say Chinese Farmers: Right - MOST rude farmers are Chinese. Secondly - you are no better. You are stereotyping an entire country into your little genre there. What about those of us (such as Black Watch) that actually does some research on which ones to kill? We will not kill any innocent person or farmer. Thirdly - Chinese are just as bad. CN and many other chinese clans HATE us "white" ppl and will kill us at any cost. I've run into this type several times before. They ask "Are you USA?", I answer "Yep", they KS, grief, or just outright PK me. I do not kill farmers because they are chinese, I kill them because they are rude, ks'ing, territorial asses. So anyone who stereotypes an entire region or country is no better than any other "racist" out there. Its funny how quick people are to pull that word out. Its as though a need deep inside them to make them feel righteous to bring it out. I'm American, and I think its stupid what those idiots do. They kill cause they can, I kill cause I know who the real problems are. Are we the same? No. Anyway, by making fun of Americans, you are making fun of just about every "race" of people out there. In my neighborhood alone we have Germans, Italians, English, French, Chinese and Japanese. About 20 blocks down is the russian neighborhood, and the exact opposite way is the Spanish neighborhood. So get over this "crying racist" crap and see the truth. Some people are idiots, some people are not, no matter where you are from. |

Well of course, because Europeans would never violently attack someone! :TONGUE: People are intolerant and stupid all over. It's not America you should curse, it's humanity. Though I'd say the chances are greater of being harrassed by a farmer than by North American vigilantes. Because the greater majority of NA players seem to want to do their own thing and be left alone, whereas only some of the Chinese farmers are territorial and violent. And in all honesty, I don't see people saying "Damn all these Dutch players!" Because nationality doesn't matter until you have a whole group acting like douches. That said, I think it sucks that these people that are only a percent of the game's Chinese population are giving a bad name to the rest. |

Not true..farmers dont go away after being ignored. They repeatedly kill steal me on purpose...use soul shots + bow when im almost half damage. They use try to train me with various mobs that are around. They bleed me. Try to trap me next to huge groups of mobs by blocking my way...yeah... |

Wow..... truly... sad... I am going to have to go with Jaih here. I am American and I LOVE my country I never PK people because they are out leveling or what have you I will PK a person/bot if it KS's / PK's / or harrasses me in any way shape or form If I die in my attempt then too bad. It is a PVP game and I didn't win that fight I never deride someone because of their nationality, I find it MUCH more rewarding to work together.... If you've played FFXI you will instantly know what I mean. I will just come out and say this right now.... I seriosly feel ill now reading some of these Hate America posts... I and most people I know have nothing but love for you guys accross the globe and you need to think about something for yourself and not let other people tell you something... IT IS ALWAYS THE BAD FEW THAT GET NOTICED, we do not have countless posts about all the nice happenings around the server, only the bad. If there were posts about all the nice things, the site would be flooded with those posts, we post about things that upset the peace and order, I don't remember popping on here to see countless [OMG I was helped out by "insert name here" when i was in trouble] posts. It bothers me because it's a fairly normal human reaction to stereotype in order to normalize an individual's experience with the world. However more importantly, it trivializes true racism. I've lived in multiple countries, and I can say this, I've never seen racism in the US to rival what I found in those countries. In fact, we seem to be so politically correct here that we need to "dig up" trivial examples of racism just to prove it still exists. Now I know that there have been a few horrible crimes that were racially motivated in the past 20 years in the US, but let's face it, they were so rare that they got national media attention. True racism is embedded in a culture, and frankly I don't see that culture here. |

If anybody needs any examples of racism gone awry, take a look at the Middle East and Africa. How about the Tootsie's in Rwanda? What about the Kurdish minority being misrepresented in the interum Iraqi government? What about the Darfour region of Sudan? How about the classic Palestinian and Israeli conflict? What about the apartheid that used to exist in South Africa? How about the Holocaust? What about the refugees in Chad? Just because I'm an American, I'm racist?? ( <---- notice question marks ) I'm one of the most accepting people you know. At my job I see Indians, Muslims, African Americans, Chinese, Hispanic, and Japanese people almost every day. I love my neighbors very much. Sure, I may be a caucasian male, 20 years old, and certainly the type that many of you would think to be your natural hot-headed foul-mouthed American, but I'm actualy quite involved in the issues of the world, and I would gladly extend my hand to any person in need no matter their nationality. I'm not saying the USA is a sacred place full of promise and love, but I am saying that I feel too-often stereotyped as "another stupid American," and I'm really getting tired of it. What have I ever done to you? I've heard many European people say that Americans are stupid, irresponsible, cocky, and downright jerks. On the contrary, I've heard many other Europeans praise America. Am I going to say that "All of you Europeans are just hypocritical jerks that are full of yourselves"? Most certainly not. I happen to know that the world is a place with many people and many different opinions. It's too easy to stereotype people and draw boundaries. I think we should look at the world more objectively and notice that we are a world community. Countries depend on one-another, and I would never wish anything foul of another person simply because they are of different origin than I. To hate Americans is to hate yourself, because I guarantee that there is somebody in the USA that is the exact same race as you and would proudly call themselves an American. LOL, I had a good laugh at that one, Holy. Anyways, why is everyone turning this into a racist thread? Last time I checked, "American" isn't even race! I'm just saying that other countries don't seem to "think" the way Americans do where they feel like they have to be heros all the time. Maybe it's all the movies they watch. Most of the threads on here are PS. And everyone wondering if they were Americans have to look at the odds. We're playing a game released in American with American servers, they spoke clear English and had normal English word names with proper capitalization. I would say, the odds of them being American over, say, Dutch are a tad bit better, don't you think? And sorry I didn't have time to ask "Are you guys Americans?" while they were killing me, that part keeps me up nights. ;o) |
I think all that has to be said, has been said about this matter. Please refrain from making racial comments, like some that have been said here. It doesn't matter what race or creed a farmer or griefer are.. they are just that, a farmer or griefer. Let's try to not generalize certain races because of such menial acts. Yup, happened to me, yet again, last night. This is 2 nights in a row so I figured I'd post a rant.
I was in Mith Mines killing stuff to get exp. I was about 95% into level 23 (new skills at level 24, yay!) and along came the "American Heros".
American Heros = American's who believe, for some reason, that it is their destiny to go into dungeons well below their levels, turn red and slaughter everyone that might be a farmer.
I guess they are "saving the world", or something, and I should be thanking them but for the last two nights I was minding my business, trying to get to my level and this is what preceeded to happen...
American Hero #1 shouts "Die farmers! Die!"
American Hero #2 shouts "rang rang you [beeps]"
American Hero #1 shouts "what about [my char's name] over there?"
American Hero #3 shouts "his name looks chinese, kill him!"
American Hero #2 shouts "yeah, lets get him!!"
[my char's name] says "Wait!"
American Hero #1 hits you for 245 dmg
American Hero #2 hits you for 198 dmg
[my char's name] says "Stop please!"
American Hero #1 hits you for 245 dmg
American Hero #3 hits you for 398 dmg
You are dead.
It took me almost an hour and a half to get back into the dungeon from town and kill enough mobs to finally level. Buuuuuuttt..... I'm proud to say that, I have never ever ever ever ever been pked by a farmer. It's always an American Hero.
