I think she should try an eye-patch.. Arrggh matey! :CYCLOPS:
J/K i dont know if she could pull that off... besides it may just be her runny make-up.

Mitsurugi's theme? eh, not for me. My char would most likely be a Gundam Wing's "Rhythm Emotion" or the Metal Gear Solid 2 theme...good stuff.

Mitsurugi's theme is a very beautiful piece ^^ I thought the oriental/japanese influenced beat matched Marasune, thus it was an obvious choice =). As for the whole tissue thing, well... the Ryu/Sword's discipline that Marasune practices is self destructive, literally, each and every time she is forced to use it's self destrutcive yet, unstoppable power it pains her body slowly but surely. Causing bleeding from her eyes, nose, ears, mouth. She is slowly dying, her near 1000 year old body is deteriorating at a decent rate, her once immortal beauty and prowess fading along with her self confidence and self esteeem. Yes she is a flawed, tragic character but that is the way I wanted her.I'm glad everyone loved my music =) Marasune has a decent variety of music no? *Chuckles*

One question...where exactly and how do you explain wielding Odin's sword the Zantetsuken as well as the masamune? I'm just curious because in a literal sense it'd be impossible since the Masamune was huge and Odin's sword was a falchion of sorts.

You're thinking of Sephiroth's Masamune, in actuality the real Masamune is the length of a normal katana. Do a search of Masamune's work online and you should be able to find the real Masamune.

And by the way, very nice music Mara.

I hate to burst all of your bubbles but... Masamune is the name of both a famous 17th century warlord Date Masamune and the swordsmith Masamune who to this day cannot have his work duplicated because we don not know how he got his blades so strong yet so thin and sharp. My current Katana, Wielded in her right hand is named after this famous Swordsmith, a legendary blade said to be the last of his deadliest blades and can cut through anything... Zantetsuken if I'm not mistaken translates into something like instant kill/slay. An appropriate name for a blade, she named it herself.

Someone's been playing too much Final Fantasy ^o^

If you remember Odin is the highest of the gods in Norse myth. If he possessed a sword named 'Zantetsuken' ( japanese ) that would be a little odd. In fact he weilded the great spear 'Gungnir', the other attack he uses in FF7. Actually I believe in FF7 his other attack was called 'Steel Bladed Sword'...

Anyway, 'the Masamune' is also a misconception, as swords bearing this name are named after the creator. Therefore there is no 'one masamune', but rather any sword made by this blacksmith ( or Maramasa / Marasame ) can be called as such.

Sorry I don't normally like to correct people, but when you get things wrong within my faith, it's my duty to do so. ^_^

Did you not read my last post. I actually read this somewhere and wasn't basing it solely from FF. I'm the last person to base historical myth from a video game. I may be wrong about it but thats what my impression was.

Oh I'm fine...I'm not going to get upset about a simple thread comment. For all i know either of you could be right. Actually chances are that you are indeed correct as I'm not terribly sure my source was reliable. I just thought of it as an interesting idea (for lack of a better word).

Speaking of things once made that we can not replicate the damascus steel used in the middle ages and was encounted by the crusaders in their wars.

Well there are 2 kinds of Damascus, a welded type that produces the pattern and the wootz/oriental damascus which can not be replicated. Its described as having wavy streaks like you would see glistening on a pond over whose surface the wind is gliding. Does the anyone know if the Sword of Damascus in this game matches that description roughly?

No bubble bursting here, I knew about Date Masamune and his katanas already. I was just refering to his katana that a legend was formed about, how when you stuck his katana into a river, leaves would flow around the blade. Most of the time when someone talks about a katana called Masamune, it's that one they're talking about.
