I started lvling an orc mystic for a little buff support. at the moment the newbie guide only gives my char melee buffs, does anyone know of a way to get mage buffs instead? atm my char is using a melee weapon with robes, but i would like to play him as a mage instead of a fighter.

No, there is no way. They've been jumping around what kind of buffs the shammy gets for quite a while. First it was melee, then it was mage, now it is back to melee. I think it's good, though. Leveling as melee for a shamana is a LOT faster and a LOT less painful, not to mention cheaper.

hmm, guess i better change into some heavy armor then on my shammy. melee in robes is a bit "painfull"

You are over 20 right? I know the buffs change at 20. Or at least, they used to.

I think at 40 you get mage buffs...might be coming w/Gracia. My Shammy is 37, kinda draggin my feet till Gracia hits.

Hm, I guess they didn't change it back then. Still mage buffs 20+. AND THAT SUCKS.
