>.<

while the Elven Elder isn't the best of the healer classes... uhh... damn :(

I'm a level 44 Elven Elder at the time of writing this and am on Lionna as PaxSanctus.

Things going for the Elven Elder:
1) The Best Natural Casting speed in the game
2) The highest MP Regen of the "Classic" Healers (Orc Warcriers/Overlords regen faster)
3) Party Recall (Almost Uninterruptable at level 2 using SpS)
4) Agility (though this will almost be a moot buff come C2 :()
5) Excellent Res % topped only by Bishops in C2 (using BSpS while Ressing will allow Elven Elders to give back 70% XP at the highest level res while Bishops will give back 90% with BSpS)
6) Vitalize (Cures Bleeding/Poison and acts as a Greater Heal all in one)
7) Bless Shield (Higher levels of Bless Shield than Prophets come C2, useful for Tanks giving them massively accelerated block %'s)
8) Highest Run Speed out of the Healers (by one sweet point)
9) Resist Shock (Helps resist Stun and other such effects)
10) Sleep past level 9

Things NOT going for Elven Elders:
1) Virtually no Offensive buffs (Might3, Holy Weapon...weeping)
2) Lowest Matk of the Healers
3) No more levels Root past level 9 (learned at 35)
4) Access to only Greater Heal and Vitalize (and not even all the levels of Greater Heal)
5) Does not have Purify (Needed to cure paralysis and petrification)
6) Hard to find groups (People want those offensive buffs... not defensive :()

Level 52 EE here...Im happy. I don't have problems getting parties. Yes, I know everyone wants SE's but thanks to a general shortage of healers, I don't have troubles getting parties and don't get folks whining about me doing a crummy job so its ok ;) Plus, between my defensive buffs and wind shackle, my party members often take so little damage that healing isnt needed. Of course, they don't tend to notice it but I sure do...

I like having a large mana pool and fast casting/fast regen. I have the freedom to work in large parties or duo with nukers with ease. Soloing is possible in a painfully slow kinda way, but I think I'm pretty well off otherwise.

Am a lil puzzled by the post above: are you trying to imply that a BSps will make elder's res work at a higher percentage?? It will turn a level 5 rez (50%) into a 70%? I know I haven't read all the notes on c2 but ...this I find unlikely. Pls clarify!

I rerolled from a 48 SwordSinger to an Elven Oracle.  Right now she is 33, and I love playing her.  I have few problems getting a group, and It is much better to have me and a Dark Elf in a group, as our buffs overlap.  I am drooling over the instant party recall! We may be poor buffers, but we are 2nd only to Bishops in healing.  With a manticore set and duals, I can solo whites no problem, but I expect that to change in time.  But then again, 40+ is hard solo for most classes.

If you honestly think this class sucks then ur sadly mistaken, I have a lvl 45 elder equiped with divine set top jewls and Orcish Pole Axe. Elven Elders are the best healing class for pvp, we are so fast!! If u really wanna have some fun get in a party with a dagger and i gaurantee you wont have any problems getting xp or killing people. Well make sure the dagger is about 4 to 5 lvls above u. That goes for any class you duo with...must be higher lvl than you. And oh ya use me as a role model and get a pole weapon, we pwn with em! hehe

I now also have a 50+ EE, and i love her.  I am bummed that we get the shaft when it comes to offensive buffs.  But a healer is a healer.  And what good is a healer that after giving buffs... cant heal.  Buffs arent so great when you hit 0 hp.

Thank you Carthine... People just dont realize that we are super good hehe. Well no one really reads this forum but i felt I had to say something about the diss to EEs at the beginning of the thread. Anyways we do have the fastest cast speed right? Well GL all you EEs.

Hi,

You are right! Elven Elder is a great healer. Currently I have a 52 EE.. she is wearing Theca set with dual Kats. She duo a fair bit.. and no problem getting herself in a group.

Since she is a healer.. I dont expect her to do damage on mobs. So, what is the advisable weapon and armor should she be wearing?

Moonfire is now my main, and 41 creeping on 42(hopefully today when servers up!) I love her, she is great healer, and resist shock is a super good buff in Cruma. Focus/guidance/Deathwhisper are useless if u standing there stunned! :P

Lvl 52 EE elder here, and I'd just like to say: I love me. I love being an EE. I really believe we are the best soloers in the game with halfway decent weapons and some good armor. (I use dual storms and bw set now, drake previously) I watch my friends the SR, the BD, the Prophet, the SE, and the SK all get hosed when they try to go out and fight alone. I, on the other hand, solo for hours and hours without ever having to rest in Dragon Valley (royal cave servants mostly). Even my necromancer friend has to rest more often than I do for less % per hour.

We do have our share of problems though:
1) I sit for hours in Giran waiting for a DVC group watching people shout "GLF Lvl 40+ bishop or lvl 44+ SE." Stupid purify.

2) Truth be told, defensive buffs aren't as good as offensive buffs. What do you go for first, new weapon or new armor? New weapons are just plain more useful than armor, even the prima guide says so =P Offensive buffs are more useful for the same reasons.

3) We aren't great at anything. We can keep a group going far longer than a bishop or se can, as our regen is way better, but bishops have a much easier time keeping their party alive, and SE have purify and empower =/ The two things we do have going for us, Huge rez (which does get a bonus from both WIT and Bsps giving us potentially the highest % in the game...suck it bishops) and party recall are both only useful if your group is up a creek without a paddle anyways. They're NCSoft's way of saying, "You may not be as good as everyone else, but when it comes around to bite you, you can at least help your party out a little bit."

PS, we don't get party recall 2.

lol @ Ashley. Do an experiment, greater heal urself and write down hp restored. Then disarm your weapon and compare. My 49 Elder cast her heal at 95% the power without weapon. I would say that an SE and EE with same equip, the EE heal would be at 98-99 strength. I would dare say that your cast speed is less then 98% of ours. Which makes us better healers. If you want to say SE has better heals, then simply state u have greater group heal and we don't. Much better arguement.

I love my lvl 60 EE,

I use him for 2boxing he is my walking mp and hp pot.

I have him in doom robes for the awsome mp regen, since all he does is sit and wait for me to need his mp.

My main Character is a 53 OL with a demon set and a +3Deadman's staff. My alt. is a 35 Oracle with Manti set and Duals.

I was thinking of giving my OL gear to my oracle when she reaches 40. Is the demon set good for Elders (+4int, -1Wis, -200 something HP's).

I solo 80% of the time and was thinking of playing a nuker style focusing on Undead anyone try this?

Hi, I'm Captain Obvious, and it seems to me that the Elven Elder is well suited to the MTs of Lineage 2, rather than the DDs.

In reply to sirfancypants. I've currently got top C-grade jewels, divine set, and crystal staff with mana-up. It works quite well for my EE. I'd suggest that but thats just my personal setup.

Is there anyone out there who uses Light armor on their elder? I'd like to hear about that. I'd imagine with maybe a +4con tatt you could work some magic...but I'm not really able to purchase 2 sets of armor so I can't test that theory.

If anyone has done this please reply what you did and how it worked out for you.

wow almost noone comes to these stickies I quasi retired my EE still at 44. I recently got drake boots from quest and as soon as I get some more adena (I'm currently just finishing my B-gear for my OL) I'm going to try drake, tower shield and sword (I hope SLS with focus).

Really disapointed no new skills at 44 for EE in C4. Haste and/or acumen would be soooooo sweeeet.

Elders don't really need new skills pre-75. Our only real drawback is missing purify, but we can still deal with that, it just takes a little more effort. I'd like some of our current buffs to be boosted a little as well, but it's not really needed.

Other healer/buffers get more "fancy" buffs and heals than us, however we can handle 99% of the situations that any other healer can. It's more a case of people desperately wanting buffs such as haste/empower, and willing to wait an extra 2 hours to get an SE rather than get an EE and level for those 2 hours. It's not the class that needs to change, it's mainly peoples attitudes.

Chaning people never works, the wold will continue to remain ignorant of EE's so we DO need changes, we need more pre 75 skills. We are suppose to be better at the SE a white magic but they have more heals and purify, wtf if up with that.

Only good EE Buff = Res. Shock for PvP, Advanced Block only for ppl with shields.
Only good EE Heal = G.Heal (only one they get)

EE's are suppose to be all about speed, so Agility is a good buff, but wheres our Focus? Acumen? Haste? These are Speed/Chance buffs, im not asking for Vamp Rage, just something that will make my EE worth playing.

I certainly agree on the purify issue. It would be great if we got it.

EEs do have two "greater" heals, the second one being vitalise. This is actually relly good for AoE groups, if you need to chain heals you can chain vitalise and Greater Heal, whereas an SE needs to throw in a battle heal between Greater Heals.

EEs are all about defence not speed. The only offensive buffs we have are Holy Weapon, Might and Wild Magic. The unfortunate thing is this game is mainly about offence, it's always better to have offensive buffs and classes rather than defensive ones.

As for good EE buffs, Resist Shock can be decent for PvE as well, especially in areas with AoE stun, it would be nice if it was a little stronger though. Advanced Block + the highest levels of Bless Shield really help tanks out, of course if you're in a group with no tank then you have a problem.

I still love my Elder, and she's certainly worth playing. Sure I don't have buffs that people drool over, but I can get groups (usually) and level quite easily.

Please don't reroll :(.

"Elves are about defence not speed"

Then tell me why they have the highest DEX and WIT. SPEED. Fastest moving fastest casting.....

I said EEs are all about defence not speed :). Sure we're also the fastest mystic type, but none of our skills have anything to do with speed, other than the standard wind walk.

I always thought of Elven Elders as masters of white magic, which means healing and protection spells. Of course we're not all that good at the healing part compared to other classes, but we do have the best protection spells...except for m.def.

oooh how mean :).

It's not all that different to your argument that Elders should get casting/attack speed buffs because we're the fastest already. We should get defensive buffs, because we're the most defensive buffers already :).

It doesn't matter what I think though, NCSoft will go their own merry way as usual.

I have a lvl 63 EE and love it I was soloing in Matyrs necropolis the other day for fun. 20k+ xp yay. I don't have anything special just grade B calibers and I can do it. Also did you lot know we can run trains. Pick a low lvl set of mobs to try first. Cast WW on yourself. Go collect aggro mobs find a mate (willing to help) or a bot if you like and run up to him while he is killing. Now 2 options one cast serenade of eva on mobs or just pr. If mate around he can get drops or just forget them its fun either way. Who says EE are boring fools

Woow that's impressive at 58 I've given up.

What armor do U use? I have a set of doom light and might borrow a demonsword from another toon to try soloing again. When I can't find a party which sad but true is sometime difficult
