Pros and cons of warcriers and overlords

hi, i got to start to play again, since a long retirement, and i was interested between those 2 classes, can u guys tell me the pros and cons of them?
like which is good in pvp(1vs1, or mass ), who is needed the most, lvling rate,solo and party friendly, cheaper or not, etc.

i lost my account and i have to start all over again.
i got some friends in bartz that will help me from time to time in parties.

OL are still a very tough class to play. their spells cost a lot of mp, buffs only affect clan members now and they arent that wanted in groups (except if your lvl 79). so you will probably be around solo a lot.

WC is the best endgame buffer in the game. nearly every group wants a WC. the only parties WC arent first choice is mages, there SE is still supreme. so lvling them isnt too hard. with their good buffs and orc stats they also solo reasonably well (if you want/need that).

so best pick would probably be the WC, he is easier to lvl, cheaper as he doesnt necessarily need top end equipment all the time and as a buffer probably wont be hit that hard by nerfs than the poor OL do all the time.

OL pro:

Exotic class. On Hindenmith u can count high lvl OL on 2 hands. Many skills for siege, mass debuff. If your clanless u just shout OL lvl XX LF Clan . U should have an invite in 2 min. U can buff all your clan fast and without emptying the buffer mp. U always surprise people with your pdef, patck or crowd controlling a whole room when the tank dead and the healer freak out.

OL Con:

NcSoft hate OL. Each expension u got nerf. Noone want an OL in xp group (exept if they understand what an ol is.). U got only basic buff, nothing that make u oustanding. Its a class that eat a huge amount of adena for gearing (see the thread on what ol setup u can use).

If you are forced to solo, WC just has more efficient self buffs and do a decent job at killin mobs. WC also have no problem getting party invites, I only solo with my WC when I want to, not because I have to.

i got the same question, i know that both has buffs and debuffs, but which 1 has a better position in pvp(1vs1 or masive)?

I like OL. They are better in PvP and PvE imo. There buffs are lowsy though. WC has good buffs and is needed more in Raids and sieges etc. I like OL playing style as well. So I would choose OL. WC is pretty sweet too though.

in pvp the OL will be better as the WC is only a buffer after all. OL on the other hand tends to have a harder time in pve if you dont like to solo. for groups you will need a group of friends, as hardly anyone will give you parties. OL have a bit the WS problem. everybody wants you to have a high lvl for crafting, but hardly anyone bothers to party you as your "not a real DD".

OL can solo, but its long as u have to kill the mob in mellee like any true warrior class. I can solo in FoTD since im 66 and now at 69 i can reap a good 3 %/hour , because i get clan hall buff in Rune.

If you are alone , and rely on your own buff , u will have some downtime as your mp pool just empty. (mana herb dont always drop)

Yet , as you reach the higher lvl (like high 60's range) the OL start becoming something in party. I made a successful TOI 10 party with some nuker. Just root the mob , the nuker kill it. Plus zerk always nice for them .

If u like having better buff and 1 DoT and , do WC, if u like cursing others with debuff (silence a whole lot of nuker , root, suspension of skill use, etc..) make mass pvp with evryone loving u at that time, do OL.

Plus , Heart of paagrio is better the chant of life :)

in resumé:

WC = best buffer, not much attk spell or debuff, less skills button to push, party animal

Ol = Clan exclusive buff, many debuff, best at mass pvp, left-over for party = hard time at soloing but u can do it.

ok what are good set for ol ?
armor and weapon with shields?
or staffs?

To level on a OL you need the following:

Heavy armor
Dagger with focus
Shield

To pvp on a OL:

Robes
1 handed club with acumen
Shield

You have a shield buff so you might as well use use, you'll thank me when you go up against archers.

1 handed acumen clubs now come in all grades, so go for those. Remember a OL is not a nuker, m.atk isn't as important as cast speed. Once you get Ally CP that what you will mainly be doing until you hit 78. Seals don't rely as much on m.atk as they do on your level vs. your opponent's lvl.

Also, for leveling you will get more damage per second out of a focus dagger with soul cry than with any other weapon in the game.

OL's are expensive to play, since you pretty much need two sets of weapons and armors to be effective, but at high levels they are fun. Good luck.

Im really surprised skullbreaker didnt reply to this since he has played both. But to what I remember He used Heavy Armor and a kris w/ focus and a sheild. Then A grade he used robes and still had the Kris and a club w/ acumen. Soul cry is a beast crit so much and is an awesome toggle just mp loss sucks for the OLs. OLs are a lot funner to play then a WC but WC is deffinitly easier to play.
